The Pace Lap

Earlier this year, we shared that Shopmonkey is embarking on a very ambitious, but necessary, re-platforming of our product. We call this “2.0."

Today, I’d like to give you an update on our journey.

Thanks to our incredibly dedicated team, we've made remarkable progress in building Shopmonkey 2.0. We've put in countless hours to ensure that every aspect of the platform is not just improved, but transformed to meet your needs in a rapidly evolving industry.

Beyond the long list of technical upgrades to the platform, we’ve made significant design and functional improvements across the Shopmonkey App. Here are a few highlights we’re excited about: 

  • The Work Order page has a fresh design, unlocking increased efficiency and better access to information.  We’re particularly excited about “Pinned Orders” which allow for efficient navigation between multiple orders.

Order Pins:

  • The Calendar has been upgraded to include more dynamic scheduling features to help your shop effectively manage work.

  • The Workflow view now has vehicle photos, new search and filtering capabilities, and an improved layout.


  • Search is now more powerful than ever, allowing you to search based on customers, vehicles, phone numbers, orders, or services and quickly access the information you need.

  • The Mobile App is now available on both iOS and Android and includes the ability to scan tires.

So, where are we now?

Imagine this: You're at a racetrack, cars lined up, engines rumbling. But before the race begins, there's a crucial moment - the pace lap.

The pace lap is the calm before the storm. It allows drivers to warm up, check their systems, and get familiar with the track. It's the last moment to fine-tune and make any necessary adjustments before the race truly starts.

In the world of Shopmonkey, we're currently on our pace lap with 2.0.

Shopmonkey 2.0 has been pacing with over 20 Shopmonkey customers running their shop on the new platform for the past 90 days. Our early users are helping us fine-tune every feature, and providing us with invaluable feedback (curious about what we do with this feedback?).  We’re doing all this to ensure that 2.0 is ready to deliver a top-notch experience when it’s time to race.

What's next?

While the pace lap is essential, the real excitement begins when the race officially starts. Over the next few months, we are taking our learnings and preparing for all of our customers currently on Shopmonkey 1.0 to make the transition to Shopmonkey 2.0. We will be sharing more details about the migration from 1.0 to 2.0 over the next couple months so stay tuned for communications from our team to your shop.
